Story and Plot
Few small kids of a village are talking about a "Horse Ghost". They are talking that there is a horse sometimes appears in the jungle. Amrit is among them who challenges them that he is not afraid of any ghost so other kids tell him to go to the jungle if he dares. Amrit heads towards the jungle only them they hear of a gunshot. Once they reach the place they find him a pool of blood, died.
Two days after this incident, the kids go to meet Byomkesh who is there in the same village for some government investigation work. They all explain to him about Amrit's unfortunate death. In the evening Byomkesh visits the crime spot with those kids. At the same time, a man named Sadanand Sur also passes from the place. Sadanand is returning from his village and moving towards his home in the jungle. The kid tells him about Amrit's murder. After a few minutes, they all hear the sound of bomb towards Sadanand's home and when they reach there, finds Sadanand has died in that bomb blast.
गाँव के कुछ बच्चे एक घोड़ा भूत के बारे मे बात कर रहे हैं। इन्ही मे से एक बच्चा है अमृत जिससे ये लोग शर्त लगाते हैं की जंगल मे स्थित उस पेड़ तक जाकर दिखाओ तो हम मानेंगे की तुम भूत से नहीं डरते। अमृत वैसा ही करता है। वो जंगल की तरफ बढ़ता है मगर तभी सबको एक गोली चलने की आवाज सुनाई देती है। सारे बच्चे पास जाकर देखते हैं तो पाते हैं की अमृत की किसी ने गोली मार कर हत्या कर दी है।
इस घटना के 2 दिन बाद ये बच्चे व्योमकेश बक्शी के पास पहुचते हैं जो की अजीत के साथ उसी गाँव मे किसी सरकारी काम से आया हुआ है। वो सब व्योमकेश को इस हत्या के बारे मे बताते हैं। शाम को व्योमकेश उसने साथ घटनास्थल पर जाता है। उसी समय वहाँ से सदानंद सूर नामक एक आदमी अपने गाँव से वापस लौट रहा होता है। बच्चे सदानंद को अमृत की मौत के बारे मे बताते हैं। इसके कुछ ही मिनट बाद ही सदानंद जैसे ही अपने घर पहुचट है, एक बम की आवाज सुनाई देती है और देखने पर पता चलता है की सदानंद मारा गया.
